The latest update is very close to being perfect, these are just a few small but significant ideas (especially the first three):
1. Make saving settings to installation folder optional (instead of program data folder). The previous version did this by default. I understand the reasons why you chose program data folder instead, but if the app is running off a USB drive you don't need admin rights to write a local config file. The reason this was useful is that I used to be able to run Aural Probe from the same external drive that I keep my sample libraries on, allowing me to carry my settings with me wherever I go.
2. Custom font size on "pads", latest high DPI displays make the labels very difficult to read.
3. Make minimizing to the system tray optional, the first time I run this program I mnimized it and suddenly the icon was gone, so I run it again. This happened several times and I thought It was crashing, until I realised I was running 7 instances of Aural Probe whose system tray icons were in the "hidden icons" menu of the system tray. IMO only apps that do stuff in the background (e.g. checking email, waiting for a connection) belong in the system tray. Also, if using the program on a Surface device, the taskbar button is easier to aim for because it's bigger.
4. As I mentioned before, maybe add a "Cut" option to complete the "Delete-Copy-Cut" trio. And maybe even a "Rename" option.
Thanks!!
Thanks for the excellent feedback - all makes good sense, I'll try and get to all those points, and apologies the settings location has caused issues for you! I'll make that optional in the next release.
I've addessed 2 and 3 in version 1.51. Apologies for the 4 year turnaround. Even for free software that's kinda slow. :)
