Aha, ok, i see what's going on here. you are /forwarding/ a message, not /quoting/ a message (which would happen when you reply). forwarded messages are not considered "quoted" text.
the presumption is that if you are forwarding a message that contained an attachment, you want to include the attachment as well...
at least that was my logic when i was coding it. :)
what are your thoughts on the matter?

I get it, and it makes sense. Let me live with it now that I understand it, I'll let you know whether a) there is still a problem with responding, and b) whether an option to cover forwarding would be useful.
Thanks for being so reponsive

I now realize it was my mistake. The program was catching a word in the subject line and I thought that I had that option "unchecked". Sorry.
Back to the question you raised previously, I think it would be nice to have an option to have an option to ignore quoted text in forwarded mail in addition to /reply/ mail, but I leave that to you.
Thanks again for you attention

Aha, ok. :)
I'll definitely put the 'forwarded mail' option feature on the list of things to do. No promises as to when i'll get to it, though... but i'll keep this bug open to serve as a reminder.

OK sounds good
play with it and let me know what you think
i'll think on it as well... maybe a separate "include forwarded text" checkbox may make sense...
OK, I'm back. I just got a warning when I replied, not forwarded. The body text is attached as "new shot1" below.
Hi,
your screenshot is of the "raw mail body"
could you post a shot of the "processed mail body" as well, for the same email reply?
the pattern-matching gets done on the "processed mail body", so i'd like to see whether the "blockquote type='cite'" element was properly removed...
