On asus p5l-vm board, redhat linux ES 4, and the vendor driver 1.0.41.0, ifconfig always returns HWaddr of
00:13:74:00:5c:38.

This is the value coded in the driver when it cannot read the NIC. The same result has been seen on 2 boards.

I have a random HW adress every time I reboot my P5B motherboard with Ubuntu fiesty. And And ... I can only contact google sites. When I try yahoo.fr it does not work but google.fr work ! So archive.ubuntu.com don't work ... only google sites such as google-fr.com work. I try to connect the computer behind a pc-router it works for every sites but behind an Internet Box with integrated router it does not work. Should I create a new Bug report ?

This is true on a ASUS P5KPL-VM. This then causes problems with kudzu rewriting the ifcfg-eth0 file
