Clearly, at some time someone figured out -- dare I say "reverse-engineered?" possibly-suffcient specs seem to appear in the Atari Hardware Manual) -- how CTIA and GTIA generated colors, in order to create a reasonable/proper palette for Atari800 in the first place. Could the same process simply be revisited to select appropriate RGB equivalents for *whatever *platform on which one finds oneself? I confess that, this process presumably having been done once, "in the beginning," it's not clear to me why we find ourselves needing to tweak it. Chris |
