I've been trying to get started with ASUnit. I have everything installed and have been attempting to go through the quickstart but everytime I do the create class I get caught up in the recursive function which is trying to drop the as file in every folder on my computer. I've done the test from multiple different locations on my harddrive including from inside of a flash project folder but it still tries to go through every folder. How can I avoid this? Am I missing something? Thanks for any help. -- David |

Hey David, Thanks for letting us know! This sounds TERRIBLE! Let's see if we can get this figured out asap. I'm on yahoo as foreeldo2001 right now and I'm working on asunit stuff. Please feel free to ping me if you have time. First off, I have a few questions: 1) What OS are you on? 2) Did you install MXP or XUL UI? 3) Did you install the release that was posted to www.asunit.org yesterday? (that's the latest) Thanks, Luke Bayes www.asunit.org |

Hey Luke, I'm still in transit right now but wanted to give you an idea of what I was doing. 1) On a Mac 2) Used the MXP (you just sent me the XUL UI and I'll try that when I get h= ome) 3) I downloaded the morning before your FlashForward Presentation so I'm not sure if that was the latest or not. I'll try to connect with you when I get back to figure out exactly what's going on. Thanks for your help. On 3/3/06, Luke Bayes <lb...@gm...> wrote: > Hey David, > > Thanks for letting us know! Hey David, This makes more sense now... I'm going to assume you're running the Flash 8 IDE... We have been pretty much sticking to the XUL UI since before that came out, so I haven't personally had a lot of experience with the MXP in Flash 8 - especially on mac. I would like to trouble-shoot this though since it seems quite a few people are still running with that deployment. As it turns out, I have more bad news for the time being. The XUL UI that's on the site has been compiled with an installer for windows. I would really love to get a mac deployment of the XUL UI put together - even if it's just a self-extracting archive, but I don't have a mac here! If *anyone* has a mac and an extra hour or two this weekend, please let me know so we can get something up for your peoples... Thanks, Luke Bayes |

Hi David, I fixed that issue on MAC for me after Flash 8 had come out. So here is my private patched version. It is based on an alpha release of ASUnit 2.7 and I did not change anything since then. Maybe this can lead You to a way to solve Your problems anyway. The issue is a change in the handling of paths in the JavaScriptFlash API. Have a look at lib.jsfl and You will see the difference. Unfortunately I did not manage to get the XML UI running on my machine yet. |

I could probably do this. Ali already sent me the files. I won't be able to sit down with it until Sunday afternoon though it'll probably take me an extra hour or three. That sounds great! If you can get it sorted out, we would love to put your fix into the posted build. Thanks, Luke Bayes www.asunit.org |

Just put "lib.jsfl" in "~/Application Support/Macromedia/Flash 8/en/=20 Configuration/External Libraries/asunit/" (and remove =20 "ConfigureFileSeperator.jsfl" if you wish). Then replace "Build Test =20 Suites.jsfl" and "Create Class.jsfl" in "~/Application Support/=20 Macromedia/Flash 8/en/Configuration/External Libraries/asunit/" and =20 you are done. Still works perfectly with current version of the Asunit framework on =20= Tiger with Flash 8 installed. Thank you for this. It's taken me a day to get my head together and sleep off the jetlag, but I should be able to play around with this a little later today. Also is there still a need for the XUL installer package for Mac? I can probably put one together today as well. |

Hey David, Thanks for the offer! I think we actually need the installer *and* an executable. Ali says he sent you a cpp that should still be valid... It would be ideal if the installer includes the .svn files so that users could just execute "svn update" to get more current versions... We're working to get that into the win installer.
