Hi, and first of all thanks for maintaining this marvelous tool. We have been using 3.1 for the last three years and, seeing recent activity, decided to move to 3.4 to take advantage of a few fixes.

Our problem is that we need AStyle to work in the same way for Linux and for the pre-built Windows executable but that doesn't seem to be the case.

We've tried this with 3.4.0 and 3.4.10 so far (the version is reported in the printed output, in both cases, as Artistic Style 3.4 or Artistic Style 3.4.10, so we don't believe we are going mad) and, in both cases, the Windows executable leaves multiple newlines between function prototypes alone (see attachment for an example) whereas, when we build and run the same release on Ubuntu, AStyle modifies the file to remove the extra newlines.

Are we going mad?

Note that we do not have --squeeze-lines set in either case; if we do set --squeeze-lines=1 on Windows then the two behave the same way, so it looks as though it is somehow defaulting to 1 in the Linux case?

We're OK with having --squeeze-lines=1 set in our configuration file but I'd guess it would be best if the default behaviour on both platforms were the same.

Hi, no issues with your mental health. Code is fixed in repo, update build will come soon. Meanwhile you can set squeeze-lines to a high value if removing empty lines is not desired.

Phew! Thanks for confirming. We've gone for setting --squeeze-lines=1, it's not a bad setting anyway.

Hi, the new release should fix it for Linux.
