I just installed AT 7 for 64 bit. I did not get any error pop-ups but I did notice a number of errors in the Cygwin setup log at c:\cygwin\var\log. I don't know how meaningful these errors are but I deleted and reinstalled and got the same thing. There was a line that McShield and McAfee might not be installed which I would expect. There was another that it couldn't get a setup.ini file from http://astrotortilla.kuntsi.com and when I tried to open that site all I got was an Internet Information Server splash screen. There were other errors in what looked like Unix format, basically file not found errors but I don't know what they mean or if they are critical. Is any of this familiar to folks on this forum. I don't know if this is a problem or not (haven't been able to test the program yet).
I have the same problem...Trying to install AT 0.7 on a new Windows 10 x64 PC. All accesses to http://astrotortilla.kuntsi.com are failing. Going there by typing the URL into the address bar I get a 404 error (page not found). IS THIS A DEAD PRODUCT???

Close to dead, and in two parts.
First off, the old Astrometry.net Cygwin packages were so out of date and full of potential security issues I had to pull them offline. The FAQ on has an alternative way to get it working using the 0.8 test build, and if you're running Windows 10, then the Windows Subsystem for Linux might also serve as a possible part of a better solution that the old cygwin packages.
Second, my trusty old dev setup let out the holy smoke, and the dev tools used to make AT don't work on the newer Windows versions. I did have a plan for AT2 full rewrite, but that has been on hold for many years and "competition" has caught up with easier to use solutions. If I get my astrophotosetup running again in the next few years, I might revisit that idea.

If you are actually planning a re-write of AT, you may be interested in
knowing that, after I started using AT, I saw that there were a few
things that I wished that it did that were not in the program. Being a
retired developer, but not conversant in Python, I write a version of AT
in C# and added the features that were on my wish list. I mention this
only because it may be of interest should a re-write be planned. Because
I use my own version of AT for my use, I was only interested in the
AT/cygwin installer to get cygwin installed on my new Win 10 laptop.
After posting my question, I was able to get a version of cygwin working
both with my AT code and SharpCap.

Antti,
Thanks for your reply.
