If the "Microsoft Word is not the default program..." startup dialog has not been resolved independently by the user (checking Do not show again, for example), the dialog will trigger and cause each search plugin instance of winword.exe to hang and bog down the system. Additionally, the dialog's "Do not show again" will not save the setting if winword.exe is loaded in this way [requires manual set by starting up Word].

Needs research in order to figure out how to either disable this or accept it via the method we use to search in word files.
Closing, recommend using the new OpenXML word plugin that doesn't require launching the actual Word program to search.
