There's been a thread on this on the asterisk-user's list this past 
week.  NVdetect will not work on 1.6.x and is questionable on 1.4.  I 
have interest in getting fax detection on sip lines as well so perhaps 
after the dust settles from 0.7.0 and the website move, I'll look into 
this a bit deeper.
