In FreePBX 2.01 dialing *97 asks for a passcode unless
you add the |s in the line
*97,5,VoicemailMain(${CALLERIDNUM}@${VMCONTEXT}|s)
I suggest that on the "General Settings" page you add a
section "Voicemail" and a checkbox option:
Prompt for password after user dials *97 (systemwide
default, can be overridden for individual extensions)?
(default would be off, or on, your choice - just so
there can be a systemwide default).
Then on each individual "Extension" page, add an option
that uses a "radio button" selector. The option would
be, Prompt for password after *97 is dialed from this
extension? (options would be yes, no, or use system
default). Out of the box it would be set to use system
default.
That way phones in secure areas (or in a home) could be
set to not require a password while those in insecure
areas could be set to require a password.
