I am running APT and using ASTAP to plate solve. What would cause a fits file to be flipped about y axis? I tried running ASTAP as standalone and it flips the file before loading. I gave it to a friend - same thing. Any thioughts? Here is a link to a fits file that has the problem

In the ASTAP viewer you can flip the view in X or Y. See pull-down menu "View". ASTAP normally displays pixel 1,1 at left bottom but not every program is following that convention. See screenshot.

If in ASTAP the flip view settings are both off then pixel 1,1 is at bottom left. You can flip the image view with the settings. If you save setting in ASTAP (file menu) then is will start with these flip settings.

In ASTAP you can also flip the image itself, so modify the file. If file is then saved it will be flipped for every other FITS viewer. See menu TOOLS, ROTATE. But normally you won't do this.

    So there two options

    1) flip view
    2) flip file
