    Hello,

When I have done a solve of an image that has a few degrees size and might be at a northerly declination I see the 'divergent' coordinate grid overlaid on the image. There is also the rotation indicator in the UI head. The way I eyeball it the rotation indicator might be referring to the upper left corner of the frame. How can I make it refer to the center of the image?

Why do I want to do that? I want to rotate the image in processing software so that my target in the center is accurately rotated to north-up.

    Thanks,
    Gert

    Hi Gert,

The rotation indicater is always referring to the center of the image.

Tho rotate to the north, just go to Tools, Rotate image, Rotate arbitrary and enter a "N" thats all. See attached.

    Hello Han,

I did an arbitrary rotate. Please see attached image. When looking at the angles of the RA grid it is clearly not symmetric. To me this indicates that the center point is not north-up. Could you please check?

    Thanks,
    Gert

Your looking to the inner of the sky sphere where the RA, DEC lines are not straight.

See the right of the screenshot of the planetarium program with the RA,DEC lines. Only on a small scale the lines are almost straight.

See the left part of the screenshot with a rectangle test with the paint program. The vertical lines of the rectangle match with the DEC lines.

So looks all good to me.

    Hello Han,

Ok. I checked it now. It looks OK.

    Thanks,
    Gert
