Running ASTAP standalone on a 30s image with Capella centered takes less than 5s to solve.
It takes 7 minutes to solve the same image in SharpCap.
    Using Astrotortilla takes 1:20 minutes.
ASTAP apears to be searcing a 180º FOV and solving at . How do I turn that down to 1º?
What settings are there in SharpCap to make it solve faster?
    FOV is 0.51º. Using G18.

      Hello John,

Sharpcap runs ASTAP with a search window of 20 or 30 degrees. But if it
doesn't find anything it will excute it again with option automatic
FOV.  But with your FOV of 0,51 degrees it should work reasonable fast.
7 minutes is way too much. What does the yellow popup menu of ASTAP tell
you?.  This will tell you the FOV and distance from the original
      position. See

      Clear skies, Han

I’m going to try N.I.N.A. Others with a Losmandy mount and Gemini II say it works better than anything else they have tried.

Part of my problems now is that Windows crashes frequently. Really wish everyone would start converting Windows apps to a Mac. It’s not that hard with today’s cross platform tools. So very thankful you did. And for Linux, too, which I also use occasionally.

All things are possible if you can find a busy person to do it.

The pop-up notifier is showing a 180º search and starting at 0, 0, not the current position.
When it gets to arond 60º, that's when it solves.
So why isn't it behaving as advertised?
