Difficulty using the manual star selection during photometry

I am using the photometry tab and when I try to use the manual star selection method, I can't see any colour index information, the circle round the selected stars is difficult to see and there is no label to define which is the target, check and number 3 stars. I am using the V50 database. What am I doing wrong?

Your doing nothing wrong. Just reduce the stretching in the viewer to a lower value. All selected stars are measured. The selection of a star is var, comp and check stars(s) comes later in the AAVSO report window.
