ASTAP always returns "No solution found" on every FITS image

    Dear Han,

    First of all, thank you very much for developing ASTAP. I have been trying to solve an unusual problem for several days without success and I hope you might be able to help.

    My system:

    Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
    Intel Core i7
    32 GB RAM

    ASTAP installation:

    Installation path: E:\Astro\ASTAP\astap\
    D80 star database installed in the same location.
    The database is recognized by ASTAP.

    I tested the following ASTAP versions:

    2026.07.16
    2025.02.17

    Both versions behave exactly the same.

    The problem

    Every FITS image immediately returns "No solution found".

    There is no crash, no freeze and no error message other than "No solution found".

    Tests already performed
    Completely removed and reinstalled ASTAP.
    Tested two different ASTAP versions.
    Verified the D80 database installation.
    Opened several of my own FITS images.
    Opened the Hubble M51 FITS image.
    All FITS files display correctly inside ASTAP.
    FITS headers appear normal.
    Tried both the Solve button and Tools → Solve image astrometric (plate solve).
    Both methods immediately return "No solution found".

    The behaviour is identical for every FITS file I have tested.

    Could you please suggest what might cause ASTAP to fail on every image?

    If necessary, I can provide:

    one of my FITS files,
    the Hubble FITS file,
    screenshots,
    FITS header,
    or any additional information you would like.

    Hi Svetoslav,

    When all images fail to solve it must be something trivial like the wrong field-of-view setting.

    Attach one of your files to your next positing and i will have a look.
    Attach alsoa screenshot of your setting like pixel size, focal length etc.

    Try also blind solving. Following this instruction:

    It should solve any image. Look to the log and last remark for a clue/hint.
