This is how we have our system setup. Mail comes in on port 25 to ASSP, our MX record is also pointing to ASSP's IP address, after processing, ASSP forwards the mail to our mail server on the internal network. When an assp-notspam or assp-spam address is intercepted by ASSP, it processes the request without forwarding it to our real mail server.
