Hello there again, everyone.... So, ok. A long while back i set up a server and installed assp on it because some domains i manage have emails that are basically useless due to the spam. I found myself quickly over my head with all the settings and options and came to this list to ask for help, evidently like many others have. I even offered to pay some amount to be agreed upon later. Very quickly, someone offered help. Now although i find the way this person suddenly just 'disappeared' on me, ignoring all attempts to communicate, after saying he's willing to help ESPECIALLY bothers me as a disrespectful waste of my time where 'sorry i decided not to help' would have been comparatively welcome, i am not here to slander anyone.. But i will say it's someone affiliated with the project whose name doesn't start with F like the guy i saw someone else complaining about [is this an epidemic!?]. Lets just say that from his name, the connotations of solid math, logic and programming i got left me very disappointed indeed. Long story short, we ended up getting nowhere and i still need help AND NOT THE KIND THAT JUST DISAPPEARS. If i cant get that, that's fine but i need to make that determination ASAP before clients leave. Here's the situation. I'm running ASSP version 1.X on a server that is now down with the MX records moved back to the main mailserver because the filter never did quite enough while still catching important mails to users in the filter..And there being no web interface, my admin load suddenly ROSE looking through blocked messages and sending them through. At the same time the system never appeared to 'learn' much from the loads of ham and spam we told it about. Before disappearing, the person helping me mentioned something about there being not enough ham in the system and that the outside saw ASSP as an open relay.. So i am wondering if there is another person REALLY willing to help me out on this. I am setting a deadline of wednesday to get someone on board; at that time ill just decomm the server and break down and buy filtering somewhere :( which would suck extra hard since we've been telling ASSP whats good and whats not for so long! Plus of course we want to use and support open source as much as possible.. Since we did begin work and had one evening with 45min where he looked at our setup and commented on it in skype, i have that chat. Anyone thinking they may be able to help can read this chat and have some of their first questions answered, possibly enough that they can already figure out if they can help or if i should just give up. The chat is at http://pastebin.com/AvFgHJEW and its been sanitized so as to protect the guilty as well as the login to the server, which is also down until i can find some HELP! Please let me know something soon.
