When running as a service, you will have to use a separate log viewer or text editor to view the logs if you don't want to use the ASSP log viewer. I use TextPad and it has a feature that will refresh the screen every time the file changes or gets written to thus giving me near real-time scrolling of the log file. Works great. It is a programming tool so it has the ability to highlight certain words you define which makes it real easy to scroll through the log looking for particular entries. It also has the ability to search in files for text or regex which makes searching a whole bunch of log files for a particular IP or email address very easy, returning the lines containing the searched for item and allowing you to click on that line to bring up the file right to that spot. Very cool. www.textpad.com It's free to try with no limitations except nag screens, and cheap to purchase (~$30 US). It has international versions in Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese (Brazilian) and Spanish.
