Agreed on making it default.

I actually tracked that one down with a debugger, a couple years ago!
There was a bug in our buildsystem that resulted in it being omitted, in
some cases.

Ah Matt you are a life saver - the -mthreads option does the trick.

Can anyone explain why having thread safe exceptions is an optional
extra...surely we always want that guarantee! I miss Java.
