Hi, I call "poll" in a while(true) loop, and according to the documentation this should be fine. I don't want asio to block, therefore I do not use "run". As for the Windows/Unix specific code: I'm rewriting only the send code of another application with asio, and would not like to change the whole application, at least not this time.
