The correct filter name, according to the aptest45.def and aptest50.def files is 'ARSperl Test-Filter1'. This value can be updated by hand in t/02export.t The ARSPDEBUG is an option and can be modified in Makefile.PL: Search for ARSPDEBUG, and add " -DARSPDEBUG" to the AUTODEFINES definition. I have not attempted this. =20 HTH, Mark =20 Mark Vaughan Programmer III =20 Direct: +1 303 802 2426 Cell: +1 303 601 4434 Fax: +1 303 802 1420 mar...@ev... <mailto:mar...@ev...>=20 Evolving Systems, Inc.=20 9777 Pyramid Court, Suite 100, Englewood, CO USA 80112 www.evolving.com ________________________________ From: ars...@ar... You do not have any cc compiler. Try to change the compiler to gcc.

Subject: [Arsperl-users] Getting closer...
Good morning all,
I'm getting closer.
"Makefile.PL" works
"make" works
"make test" does not
Here's one of the 13 nearly identical errors:
- ARS object version 1.83 does not match bootstrap parameter 1.8001 at
/gnu/lib/perl5/5.6.0/sun4-solaris/DynaLoader.pm line 219
Here's my environment:
- SunOS 5.8
- Perl v5.005_03
- ARS v6.3
- API v6.3
- ARSPerl v1.83
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hullo all -
This is going to sound like a terminally newbie question, but it's been a
while for me. .
Using ActivePerl 5.8.6 on WinXP SP2
Installing ARSPerl 1.82
Using Remedy 4.05.02
I used to have ARSPerl 1.74 installed and working fine. Couple of Perl
experiments later, I had to reinstall everything. Everything appears to have
installed properly ("Successfully installed ARS version 1.82 in ActivePerl
5.8.6.811.")
When I try and run my script ('gen_users.pl') though, a window pops up with
an error stating that ARAPI60.dll cannot be found. The DOS screen displays:
Can't load 'C:/Perl/site/lib/auto/ARS/ARS.dll' for module ARS: load_file:The
specified module could not be found at C:/Perl/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 230.
at gen_users.pl line 2
Compilation failed in require at gen_users.pl line 2.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at gen_users.pl line 2.
I had ARAPI45.dll in the directory that I installed ARSPerl from, so I'm not
sure why it's looking for the 6.0 version.
I'm guessing this is really obvious, and I'm just not seeing it, but it's
been one of those weeks. . .
Thanks in advance
- Alex Kalisiak

After adding this line into the query, the script no longer ran, giving me
the following error:
bind_columns called with 9 refs when 10 needed. at C:/Perl/site/lib/DBI.pm
line
1787.
Here's that section of code in DBI.pm:
sub bind_columns {
my $sth = shift;
my $fields = $sth->FETCH('NUM_OF_FIELDS') || 0;
if ($fields <= 0 && !$sth->{Active}) {
return $sth->set_err(1, "Statement has no result columns to bind"
." (perhaps you need to successfully call execute first)");
}
# Backwards compatibility for old-style call with attribute hash
# ref as first arg. Skip arg if undef or a hash ref.
my $attr;
$attr = shift if !defined $_[0] or ref($_[0]) eq 'HASH';
1787-> die "bind_columns called with ".@_." refs when $fields needed."
if @_ != $fields;
my $idx = 0;
$sth->bind_col(++$idx, shift, $attr) or return
while (@_);
return 1;
}
Is there a max on the fields that can be passed?

Sorry for the duplicate email this morning, I meant this to be a reply
saying I found the problem (I didn't add the new field to the *bind =
columns*
statement) but I fat-fingered the 'send' keys. :^)
