Ok, the problem came from this line from Makefile.PL: 'PM' =>{ '_h2ph_pre.ph' => '$(INST_LIBDIR)/_h2ph_pre.ph' }, which I un-commented out since I thought we would want _h2ph_pre.h installed. It appears from the perl docs that this probably isn't what we want to do. The revision back to get it working is checked in... -- jeff -----Original Message----- From: Jeff McCarrell Sent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 5:08 PM To: 'ars...@ar...' Hi guys. I can't get the current code to compile; the autoloader generated file autosplit.ix is not getting generated and built, so nmake test fails all tests. Clearly autosplit.ix used to get generated, and it is part of Matt's binary installs. I've deleted and re-installed my perl installation, so it isn't anything I've done to my local perl. I've updated to the latest arsperl sources in CVS. Any thoughts? -- jeff |

Hi guys. The pre-built win32 binary we have published depends on (was built against) the 5.x version of the arapi, which is published as arapi50.dll, or arapi51.dll This means that folks have to have this dll to use the prebuilt 1.82 modules. If you don't have it, the user gets a error message about that dll not being found, and the program exits. For a 6.x only install, this seems wrong. The user shouldn't have to install a 5.x dll to use arsperl on the 6.x servers. Seems to me that we need to provide prebuilt binaries compiled against the 6.0.1 version of the libs. Here's a table of some common releases and the dll that we need to link against: 5.1.2 arapi51.dll 6.0 arapi60.dll 6.0.1 arapi60.dll 6.3 arapi63.dll Seems like we need to build more binary versions... thoughts? -- jeff |

make test is giving me: ARS object version 1.82 does not match bootstrap parameter 1.8002 at C:/apps/perl-5.8.4/lib/DynaLoader.pm line 253. I see that ARS.pm defines version as: $ARS::VERSION = '1.82'; Ideas? -- jeff |

Hi guys. Have we decided on how we are going to do future releases? I've made several preliminary changes (reducing compiler warnings on win32 from a couple hundred to 10) that I would like to check in. After that as time allows, I want to improve the test suite that make test invokes. Should I just check this stuff in? -- jeff |
