I haven't put much thought or investigation into compiler policy yet, but I don't think ANSI would have a problem with not inlining anything unless speed > n for some value of n. And if n were to be 2 (or 3), not inlining anything would be the default (since speed defaults to 1), which is what you want for interactive development. I'll see if I can get this done soon. I'd do it right away, but I'm in the midst of hacking on the relevant files (nested FLETs!) and I need to clean things up a bit first. -Peter |
