#16 more dynamic library view

i am not sure if mpd supports that kind of information for listing and searching... but...

i would like to change the categories which are shown in the top boxes and/or add more box, like:

1st genre, 2nd artist, 3rd album (maybe even 4th year).

i think especially a genre box would help a lot with finding what you want to hear in bigger collections.

also a way to disable album art in the album box would be nice. (and thereby smaller line height)

Hi,

- MPD doesn't provide any easy way to sort by genre (or by other infos). You may open a features request directly to MPD team.
- It is already possible to disable album art in the album box. (Preferences->Covers: it is the first option).

gmpc is the only mpd client I know which allows sorting by genre. Maybe it would be worth having a look at how they do this ? I agree with fdemmer, this would be a very useful feature when dealing with large collections.
