Hi, I am having a very job-full week and so my work on Stendhal has been delayed. In order to consolidate changes and not to disrupt any new development I am going to release a 0.35 version that will have all the fixes but the chest feature. Lets call it a bugfix release, so noone complains about missig features. At least everyone knows the project is still active. Do you release marauroa too? Don't know if it is still comaptible... Now the changes I'd like to have in the next version (marauroa cleanups, no new features) - let the the RPObject generate its own unique ids one it is created (we talked about it some time ago). My task if it is still ok. - Remove the 'add to static list'-feature from the RPClass constuctors. Bad style. This can also be extended to another (maybe better) solution of the 'anno-attibutes'-problem (I'll talk about it later) Of course this breaks all current games. Stendhal:: - add metadata to the maps. Like the text on a sign. Or the destination of a portal. Atm it is hacked in the map-java-files which makes it difficult for the map designers to move/add a sign or change the text on it. This may be a textfile for each map (easy) or included in the other map files (need to modify tiled). - finish this nav-points stuff...wanted to wait for feedback about the 'new' pathfinding, both threaded and not-threaded. Yeah, I were going to ask about nav points. I saw the nav points loader but still there is trace of the data structure to host it. If you want I can enable threaded path finding ( I though it was enabled ). From my experiments on the server I do really think that all our problems comes from creatures using A*, and mainly sheeps. I have done a quick fix that is simply to make the creatures sleep when there is no player near them. That way we save LOTS of CPU time when there are no players ( that is the most common situation ). Regards, Miguel |

But only for sheeps atm. I thought they move on a predefined path (generated at zone load time) when there is no player near them. Regards Matthias |

Offcourse... the map files for tiles is just a simple text file... even the .stend files that we convert them to after, so it would probably be easy to add a simple thing like that in a new .stend file we create... on our own.... still it would be easier if it could be done directly in tiled.
