going to hell to see if the monster for daily monster quest is there... short walkl around... logout and later login again and the following happens:
[16:57] You fall down a deep chasm into the fires of hell. You can hear screaming of some poor soul being tortured, and the roars of fearsome creatures.
[16:58] An infernal official has noticed you and approaches.
[16:58] Apprentice nail puller tells you: tug. Huh, that was loose, and it seems to grow back awfully slow. Sorry, but something must be wrong with your nails, I'll send you to my superiors for checking.
[16:58] An irresistible force drags you to the Pit
[16:58] You have been caught by a hellish official, and are now in the Pit where you need to answer the reapers' questions.
even if someone is more than a week not in hell it can happen that you get kicked out of it very quickly... see text above...
and worst is... i was just lucky to find my needed monster and was kicked out while i wanted to kill it...
therefore i suggest to completely remove the timer for hell!

I am supporting that wish.
The hell timer was meant to improve the fairness in hell, and the idea with the pit was implemented really smart. But the timer - at least how it it working at the moment - always seems to bother the wrong players, ironically leaving the notorious hell campers totally untouched.
So removing the timer, or at least implementing it as a fixed timer as in the clouds would be desirable.
I think that if we remain with a timer in hell, that timer should at least guarantee a full exploration of the map, and it should guarantee coming back and staying for a short (but long enough) time to get back lost items from your own corpse after dying in hell. In principle it should work very similar to that one in the clouds of Kikareukin.
Using a fixed time timer like in clouds would break the design of hell (Needing to solve riddles/pay with exp for leaving; basically we'd need to remove those as well). OTOH we know that having no timer causes major camping problems - that's why the timer was added.
It would be simple to use some minimum times (for both the recently-caught and not-recently-caught cases, or just one of them), if it improves playability.
Unfortunately the major camping problems aren't gone, because it's still possible to log out of hell and relog there again. That seems enough for some players.
I think the timer (fixed or not) won't break the design. The character would in any case be sent to the staging area and forced to solve the riddle or pay with XP. It won't be any difference, if the timer was fixed or randomly.
But a (reasonable) minimum time would improve the playability, too... As long as the minimum time was enough for a proper exploration of the map.
the major camping problem has enough chars to have not any problems with restrictions... its the player with only 1 char that have problems with any kind of restriction...
This should be moved to feature requests.Last edit: AntumDeluge 2021-12-31
