Areca currently creates split zip files, which are not supported by many tools.
There is an open-source library called Zip4J which supports UTF8, Zip64, AES etc. and creates split-files which are supported by all the tools.
Maybe Areca could adapt to that format (or use that lib)?
Here is an example of Areca files:

As well as an example that is accepted by many tools:
members.chello.at/~kabelpruefer/arecazip4j/butterfly.zip
