After over a decade, Areca is still my go-to local backup solution. Features I love: - Incremental file backup history. - Great logical view of a backup's file structure. - Able to restore individual files/dirs with ease. - Able to open zipped backup files directly in Total Commander. - Able to make file/dir exclusions for backup tasks to save space (browser cache etc). - Great logs in case of failure (very rare). - XML-based config so relatively easy to manually edit when needed. Drawbacks are its dependence on Java JRE and its slightly old-school UI, as well as having to configure the Task Scheduler myself. But these are all minor things. A dark theme would be greatly appreciated :)
