I'm having problems programming my board - built on strip board. The program ( MyFP2_DRV8825HW203_291 )compiles ok then starts to upload. While programming the board LED starts to flash rapidly. It stays like this for at least 5 min. If I terminate by disconnecting the USB port and connect to the MyFocuserProL app, then press CONNECT it seems to communicate in a limited way. Get firmware returns P5000. There is no temperature displayed. The Get Temp returns and error message that it received P5000. Any thoughts?

    1. What Arduino IDE are you using? It should be 1.8.8 or 1.8.9
    2. Have you set the Tools-Processor- to old bootloader in the Arduino IDE?
    3. What Windows application are you using - version number -
    4. Please post the windows application error log

You do realize that you used firmware for myfocuserpro2, but you alsi indicated that you were trying to use the wrong windows app?

This is myfocuserpro, not myfocuserpro2. You cannot run myfocuserpro applications with a board programmed with the myfocuserpro2 firmware.
firmware 2xx requires myfocuserpro2xxx applications and ascom drivers

      Hi there
thanks for the prompt response. I've updated to Arduino IDE 1.8.9
Also turned on verbose in preferences
      Selected the old bootloader
I note what you say about the incompatibility of the Windows application.
My fault. Got confused with the mass of info that you provide and all the
      variants.
It looks like a programming problem still. I get the following message
shortly after it says it is uploading.
avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x50

I am using a NANO board that has the CH340 USB interface. I downloaded a
driver for it and that seems to work when used with Great Cow Basic.
I am powering the board through the USB port and there is very little
consumption because the DRV8825 and the LCD are not connected yet.
It doesn't seem to be a psu problem.
I've tried pressing the RESET button while it is loading and this still
      gives the same error message.

I appreciate you taking the time to help me.
      cheers
      gaj

Just tried loading a simple example into the board and its coming up with
the same error. Clearly a basic set-up problem.
        Thanks
