11-Jan-2019 All Aisler PCB's have been updated.
They are now smaller in size, meaning cheaper.
On average at least 5E and in some cases over 8E less.
Prices are fixed by Aisler based on size of PCB, but because I have reduced the PCB size means they will be now be cheaper.
A significant amount of work has gone into this, In addition, some circuit changes have been made. The reverse voltage protection has changed, there is a HER208 diode in between the LM7808 and the Arduino to prevent incorrect voltage readings when the Arduino is powered by USB and the external supply is off.
This was necessary in order to add the next feature, slotted for firmware release 280, stepper power detection. This new feature means if stepper power is off and a move is requested, it will be ignored and the focuser position will not be changed. So I added this to all the PCB's now. Effective from today.
If your current board or stripboard etc does not have this new circuit, do not worry, your focuser will behave just like it does now with the new firmware - you just wont have the feature, but the controller will work as it does now.
Before anyone asks about the stripboards - No, I am not going to update the stripboards, it isjust too much work involved. So stripboards will remain as they are now. The new firmware releases will continue to be backward compatible, [but new features introduced which require addition hardware circuits will not be available]
I have also updated the main pdf, all the "Lets make a " pdf documents, and in the Aisler PCB folder all the schematics, part lists etc have been updated for all the PCB boards.
Regards
Robert

11-Jan-2018 I have uploaded the details/circuit foe the Stepper Power Detection feature that is coming in firmware 280 and has already been added to all Aisler PCB's.
I will be releasing v280 which uses Stepper Power detection (if enabled in firmware), meaning if 12V power is off and the option is enabled, then the stepper will not move.
Stripboards will not be updated so do not support this.
// Stepper Power Detection is not available on the following Driver Boards
// L293D, L293D_OLED, L293DMini_TFT22, DRV8825_HW203_TFT22, DRV8825_TFT22, DRV8825_RE, DRV8825_HW203_TFT22, L298P, ST6128, ST6128_DT22
The current Aisler PCB's will be updated over the next few days, so if you are thinking of purchasing a PCB you might want to hold off till then

14-Mar-2019 myFocuserPro2E is released for general testing.
DO NOT attempt this project (myFocuserPro2E) unless you understand what TCPIP is, what an IP address is, what Access Point and Station mode means etc - there is limited help available on this at this time. Purchase different ESP chips at your peril - no help available if you decide to purchase one that is NOT recommended in the PDF (it also will not fit the PCB and the temperature probe will fail - be warned).
This is not a beginner project.

Robert

IMPORTANT - This is a major change.
It is important that you follow each step.
It is best to use the Save/Restore settings feature of the current Windows Application to save your current settings to a file.
Once you have updated the firmware, you can reload the controller settings from the saved file.
Download this new firmware
Download this new Windows application 2433 and Mini application 2349
Download this new ASCOM driver 268
Download this Arduino file to clear eeprom in controller
(it is in the main firmware 271 zip file, Tests\FocuserUtilPrograms\ClearEEPROM)
Download updated pdf
Use control panel to remove current windows application myFocuserPro2
Use control panel to remove current ASCOM driver ASCOM myFoucser2ASCOM Driver 267 (or v266)
Load Arduino IDE and reprogram controller with ClearEEPROM
After download wait 30 seconds for program to complete
Reprogram controller with new firmware v281
Install new Windows application
Install new ASCOM driver
You will need to enter all in settings. Settings are lost so need to redo settings after install of new driver and software.
