You might want to look at Arculator, instead of ArcEm – ArcEm’s rather forgotten these days.

/dev/dsp does not exist on modern Linux so sound is broken.

Is anyone planning to fix this?

I'm the developer of Arcpinball. Last time I played it it was 1990. It's running awesome in arcem, even my 5-lines-of-recursive-code individual sand grains hourglass works, but no sound :(
