Hi ! Maybe some one can enlighten me on a thing, lots of objects cannot be rendered as parametric objects, take for example if we want a box that we twist a bit along an axis, this would mean that we must create a mesh of polygons for it, but in the renderman spec you only supply the vertices for each polygon, no vertex normals, so far so good, they can be calculated by the renderer, but as we break down the polygon into micropolygons, they will all have the same normal (for one single poygon), we might want a "smooth" surface where we interpolate between vertex normals to get a smooth surface, how is this done in a reyes renderer ?, it would mean that we need to pass around the vertex normals (and interpolated ones) to the micropolygons or something....
