Hi, thanks for your report. It looks like the password parsing routine is too simplistic. Bug #309288 points out that '@' is not accepted either. We will fix this but we need to wait until the debian sarge freeze is over. Please work around this by using other characters. I think you'll find that there are other characters that work, eg !$^*, but I haven't tested it yet.
