+1 for this, especially since the 'Recovery Partition' goes away if you enable FileVault2, aka Lion's Full Disk Encryption.
Also, this is probably going to take major updating as Apple has moved to CoreStorage (I think it's called) instead of just diskutil/HFS+. It's a bit of a different animal...
Barring that, if you need a workaround until Applejack is released, consider making a thumb drive of the Lion Installer (there are instructions at TUAW & other places). Then you can boot from that to fix perms, etc.
Yes, I'm on Lion. Yes I really miss Applejack. But I'm not one to bug the developer who has supported us as best he can since... what? 10.4 or so?
