I am not able to install 10.6.6 at this time as I'm working on some projects and can't risk the downtime.
If there is another user with 10.6.6 who can verify whether or not they are affected (we have 1 already who attests they are not), we can file this away as user error, or perhaps a legitimate bug.

I have 10.6.6 and I use applejack AUTO restart... no problems yet although it seems a hell of a lot of permissions seem to be wrong and applejack suposidly fixed them. Sometimes performance seems slower after applejacking but I reboot again if that doesn't fix it I use the snow cd to refix permissions and I'm all good.

I could not reproduce this running "applejack auto restart". Did you repair the disk first?
