Apple TV Remote is an open Android remote control for Apple TV. It talks to the Apple TV directly over the local network using the Companion Link protocol, so no account, cloud service or extra hardware is needed. It finds Apple TVs on the network and pairs with the PIN shown on the TV.
The layout follows the Siri Remote, with touchpad, swipe and d-pad navigation, play/pause, skip, volume, mute, back, home and power, and text entry when the Apple TV shows a keyboard. Playback controls are also available in the notification shade and as a Quick Settings tile.
With an LG webOS TV, one button turns the TV on over Wi-Fi, switches to the Apple TV's HDMI input and wakes the Apple TV through HDMI-CEC, even from deep sleep. Available in English and Finnish.
