Hello, Thanks a lot for the excellent piece of open source software! I've used it to create my photo gallery. With best regards, -- Ilguiz Latypov Kitchener, Ontario Canada tel. +1 (519) 569-7193 |

I found APG after getting home with almost 900 photos from a vacation. I'm amazed with this program -- absolutely wonderful! Fast, stable, flexible, easy to use, and in my favorite language, too! Great job! I do have a few things I'd like to enhance, though. For example, the program loaded the 900 photos OK (took a while to generate thumbnails, though), and generates the HTML well, but it creates a LONG list of pages on each index. At my preferred number of images per page, there are 50 pages or so -- the page list is too big to comfortably use. I'd like to add a couple of "page list strategies" to the program. One would work like the system currently does, with each page listed. The other would be a bit smarter, and would shorten the list of pages shown on each index page -- something along the lines of how EBay's paging works. I see each paging strategy as its own class -- any preferences for where I should put them? At the moment I've created a new package (apg.paging) for them. -- cra...@ia... Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." -- T. S. Eliot |
