Dear Duncan, "interpolate_sww2csv" function will be useful when we look for isolated gauge locations. However what Nils looking for is the stage/velocity information for a given instant along a track defined mostly (not always) as a straight line with just two points. Yes we can still use this function provided we generate enough locations along the track to be fed to it. cheers -rajaraman On Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 5:21 AM, <Dun...@ga...> wrote: > Hi Nils, > > I use the function interpolate_sww2csv to extract stage, depth and velocity > information from sww files. > > To import it use; > from anuga.fit_interpolate.interpolate import interpolate_sww2csv > > This is the function interface; > def interpolate_sww2csv(sww_file, > points, > depth_file, > velocity_x_file, > velocity_y_file, > stage_file=None, > verbose=True, > use_cache = True): > """ > Interpolate the quantities at a given set of locations, given > an sww file. > The results are written to csv files. > > sww_file is the input sww file. > points is a list of the 'gauges' x,y location. > depth_file is the name of the output depth file > velocity_x_file is the name of the output x velocity file. > velocity_y_file is the name of the output y velocity file. > stage_file is the name of the output stage file. > > In the csv files columns represents the gauges and each row is a > time slice. > > Cheers > Duncan > > > -----Original Message----- > From: anu...@li... > [mailto:anu...@li...] On Behalf Of Nils Goseberg > Sent: Thursday, 26 June 2008 11:03 PM > To: anu...@li... > Subject: [Anuga-user] extracting profile > > Hi all, > > > > I'm doing presently a test case with periodic incoming waves in a narrow > channel/flume (horizontal bottom of z=-100 conjunct with beach, slope 1/50) > to compare Anuga to a publication by Madsen and Fuhrmann (2008).
