I have created * An installer for Windows (using NSIS) * An Annoyance-Filter Manager (a gui to control the Annoyance-Filter on Windows - created with C# using SharpDevelop and the .NET Framework) * An instruction manual for the Annoyance-Filter and the manager. The Annoyance-Filter Manager' folder selectors are not coded, so they won't work until the code is added. I created these things for a masters degree assignment, which stated that all tools used must be free and legal. Obviously some of the documentation is stright out of the AnnoyanceFilter's documentation. The installation procedure for a Windows computer is clear and mostly automated. I have tested the install, and it works OK. The Annoyance-Filter Manger has been tested with the following email clients... * "Express Plus" by Chaossoftware * "Mozilla Thunderbird" by the Mozilla org. Express Plus stores email messages as individual files on a computer. Thunderbird stores emails in a single file. The Annoyance-Filter will not work with Express Plus, because Express Plus cannot select to filter messages from targeted header lines (X-Annoyance Filter Classification). Mozilla Thunderbird works well with the Annoyance-Filter Manager. The script for the NSIS installer and the code for the Annoyance-Filter Manager can be downloaded from... http://enlightensoft.freeyellow.com/afm.zip It's about 2.5 Mb in size, and it includes all the files to create the install and manager. It would be better if these files were available for download from the annoyance-Filter's web site, rather than mine. Feel free to improve the installer and manager as you see fit. Graham Hardwick |
