XDoclet is better than writing it by hand :) (end of quote) I basically agree, but we use XDoclet anyway, and it doesn't bother me to run it on generated code if it gets the job done (philosophically is another story). It's only pointless if we can do the same thing just as easily from within the model. (key phrase here is "just as easily"). But looking at bmp4struts it seems like it would be a pretty big job to model the app in UML and then just use the validation part.
