ok, it is indeed my fault. Fedora policies don't allow libs that are in the distro to be provided by other packages (for obvious reasons, and i agree with the policy). That is why the Fedora version doesn't have it's own libpng etc, and also not it's own (modified) BWidget. Now there are a few things I thought of: 1) Should a packager be able to add the distro to the amsn file so bugreports can be seperated out to a distro (so the packager (me) gets notified, not the amsn dev's. 2) Why weren't the BWidget changes sent upstream? The (preferred) way to fix this bug for Fedora is: Get the changes in upstream cvs, then have the packager for the lib patch the lib with those changes for cvs (until the new version of the lib with those changes already in it is released, and the patches in the package will be dropped). So what I did was notify the bwidget maintainers, and i hope they will apply the patch, but again, why wasn't this done initially (on purpose or just forgotten)? 3) I will wait about a week and after that if there is no activity on the bwidget side i will push to have the amsn bwidget changes wrt fonts.tcl in the fedora package, thus fixing the bug. 4) Can somebody with enough c/compiling knowledge change the tkcximage so you can at least choose to use the libs supplied or the system libs (with defaulting to system libs?)
