I agree with everything. I can help by creating best-practices examples using cairngorm and other approaches. I can also try to translate some good material posted in portuguese on the portuguese RIA community. The 1.9 version must have service authentication in order to go into a production release for security reasons. With the addition of a filter for managing authentication we should be in a great position to shelf amfphp 1.2. > > Past that there needs to be a GROUP focus on developing the documentation and knowledge base of the application. There is so much misconception as to the what AMFPHP, what version to use, what examples are currently relevant, and what if any best practices exist. Alessandro, Renaun, and others have some great tutorials buried deep in there blogs. I personally have a tone of internal documentation that just needs to be posted. There also needs to be more information about how to leverage the php C extension for amf serialization. A lot has happened in the last year with AMFPHP and unless you read all of the threads you would think that nothing has been done. I want everything to be documented so that we are all on the same page. This is critical before we start talking about additional features. > > Past that there needs to be an effort to showcase the integration of amfphp into some of the popular frameworks such as cairngorm. Examples of optimization, sessions, persistent objects, and other tips and tricks that we use. The service browser needs better code generation ala Univirsal Remoting Project. A separation into Universal Remoting so that we can collaborate with other projects such as fluorine and SWX. Additional services that are exposed in flex data services that are not available in amfphp. All of this is important but we need to clean house first. > > I expect to play traffic cop and turn this into an open source community driven project. For that to work there needs to be traffic. There was an expectation from the community that Patrick would "manage" the project but there were only a few of us that were doing anything for the project. If you feel that I am going to start pumping out features like Patrick it won't happen. However I believe that I know AMFPHP about as well as anyone on the list. This does not mean I know everything but it does mean that my livelihood depends on the service this community project provides. That makes me pretty vested in its success. > > Wade Arnold > > > From: amf...@li...
