As you're surely aware, amfphp now supports JSON. Now the way JSON is implemented is not exactly standard, so I was thinking of rewriting the JSON support in amfphp so that it conforms to the JSON-RPC spec, available here: http://json-rpc.org/wd/JSON-RPC-1-1-WD-20060807.html Now the issue I have is that the JSON-RPC spec states that it is REQUIRED to support named parameters. To support named parameters, I need reflection, and that's PHP5 only. Now some people might want to have JSON support in amfphp in PHP4, so I was thinking of having two gateways, json.php and jsonrpc.php. I think that might confuse people however, having two similarly named gateways. What do you guys think? Should I settle for JSON-RPC support only, requiring PHP5, or JSON-RPC and straight JSON, leading to confusion, or the current method, which is non-standard? |
