Hello,
I have been trying to get Gnome-Mud to compile on FreeBSD 4.7. I am
using gcc. The program compiles well but when I try to connect by the
Wizard or manually, I get this error.
GNOME-Mud version 0.10.2 (compiled 17:59:27, Oct 13 2003)
Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public Licence.
Python version 2.2.2 (#1, Sep 9 2003, 20:25:21)
[GCC 2.95.4 20020320 [FreeBSD]]
*** Making connection to 192.168.1.2, port 4000.
*** Invalid value for hints.
I have looked around the internet and on amcl.sorceforge.net but could
not find a similar error. I would like to get this running since I am a
big fan of AMCL. Thank you for making this available to everyone.

Hi! I have just put together a quick patch to make gnome-mud work in hpux and, i hope, others non linux *nix's. The main problem is that hpux (and others) do not provide: getnameinfo() getaddrinfo() freeaddrinfo() inet_ntop() inet_pton() I took python implementation and added 2 source files and a header. Also I added a couple of lines to net.c. configure test for both functions, so the HAVE_GETADDRINFO is defined only when needed, but I don't know how to make Makefile to add the two new files to the compilation. Im not member of any of the list, so please Cc if you got any questions. Thx. Hi! This is a simple patch for the directions in german. Works with most german MUDs (well-tested in Final Frontier). I did this to gnome-mud 0.10.1 I hope this is a help for someone :-) Have Fun! Martin |

I think all the other players have an account already :) Naw, for myself I think I'll have to face up to being pretty much out of the project. I haven't been able to keep much up with GNOME development since around the Gtk 1.2 days - I'm mostly doing KDE stuff - and more importantly, I've finally managed to stop mudding, so the motivation is sort of gone. I'll definitely stay on the list, though, and try to offer my assistance to anyone who wants to work on the Python stuff, and anything else I have half a clue about. --=20 Petter E. This finally was a packaging bug in the Debian package. Heh heh. It's good to check for null values in gconf variables, though... I've seen many crash reports in gtetrinet due to this. Hi! Just a quick note to let everyone know that gnome-mud was just installed at GNOME's CVS server. I'll write a real mail with the details tomorrow, as I haev to go to bed now (training tomorrow), with the details for those of you interested in having a cvs account. Some of the people that are tracking g-m more recently already have it, so let the fun begin. Robin, try to be around tomorrow, I'll give you some instructions. If anyone else wants an account, just say. Robin: regarding the gconf-with-no-values bug, I can reproduce it on many boxes. Can you try ith a clean new unix user? We have
c->vscrollbar =3D gtk_vscrollbar_new(NULL);
gtk_range_set_adjustment(GTK_RANGE(c->vscrollbar), VTE_TERMINAL(c->=
window)->adjustment);
And apparently this is bad:
(gnome-mud:16939): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid cast from `GtkVScrollba=

(gnome-mud:16939): Gtk-CRITICAL **: file gtkscrolledwindow.c: line 487 (gtk=
_scrolled_window_get_vadjustment): assertion `GTK_IS_SCROLLED_WINDOW (scrol=

Walters told me that we should be creating a GtkScrolledWindow and
packing another widget inside it.
This makes 0.10.0 barely usable. Can anyone have a look?
