On a pretty fresh Ubuntu 64bit (11.10) I have done configure/make/make install, but the resulting binaries does not run.

The first problem is that I manually have to set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include /usr/local/lib, which apparently isn't included by default.

This makes the Qt player work, but the GTK player has further problems in that it cannot find its resources or something, and doesn't show the menu bar, etc.

This needs to be fixed before the next distribution.
