I'm new to amavis and am finding installation a bit of a struggle ... endless perl problems it seems. I'm on Slackware 9.1 with perl 5.8. I'm working with the amavis-ng-0.1.6.4 tarball. I need to get a few basics straight. First, there appear to be at least three versions of amavis (amavisd, amavis-ng, amavis-new etc) ... which one should I be using? I am trying to set up amavis with clamav and postfix. clam and postfix are both working fine. Secondly, is there a problem in using perl 5.8? Is it necessary to downgrade to 5.6? I have solved a stack of issues but can't get past this: AMAVIS: Couldn't load AMAVIS::Extract::Mail at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/AMAVIS.pm line 247. To try to solve this I've hit CPAN hard for all manner of modules. Now I'm stuck on this: v-string in use/require non-portable at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/MIME/Field/ParamVal.pm line 66, <GEN2> line 520. Any advice greatly appreciated. |
