Certainly the analogue I/O side works just fine under 0.9b8 and later (in fact any of the later 0.9 betas other than beta 7) As regards digital and MIDI I don't have the hardware. Some aspects of routing can be handled by the envy24control utility (in alsa-tools), others may need .asoundrc settings. As far as A2D conversion goes, I find I get about 0.5-1 bits of noise at CD quality when recording from a disconnected unit (i.e. I have the audiophile in one of my tape loops, and select (say) tuner on the amplifier with the amp on but the tuner off), which is probably as good as can be expected from an in-case unit with 2m cables to the source. The only drawback that I am aware of is that there is no boost for weak line-in signals (I'm thinking of trying to use the attenuatable pre-out on my amp for such cases).
