I am trying to use the python-alsa-midi module to send ALSA MIDI events in Python immediately without queuing. This works in C using `snd_seq_event_output_direct()` from the ALSA `libasound` library, but the analogous `event_output_direct()` function from the`Python alsa_midi` module always behaves the same as `event_output()`, requiring `drain_output()` before the events are actually sent. I have just subscribed to this very low volume mailing list. Is it the correct place to ask for help with a problem like this? I can post the Python and/or C code, including the many experiments I've made trying to get them as close as possible to being the same. Thanks in advance for any advice. |
