[Alsa-user] Audio buffer size

Hi,

I have playback "skips" on my X-Fi soundcard (chipset EMU20K2), under Linux
2.6.39.
When playing audio or video files, sometimes the playback jumps skipping
about a second of the file.

This happens with many applications, using ALSA as audio output driver.

I tried running mplayer from the console and I have this message when a skip
occurs:
"Increasing filtered audio buffer size from 65536 to 67536."

Where could be my problem? Please let me know if you need more information
about my system.
