It's a an Instant Music RDX-150. Here's a link I found: http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-instant-music.htm It uses the USB Alsa driver. I thought I filed a bug report on it a long time ago. It's a little weird how the lights on the front sort of randomly change state but I think that doesn't effect the audio output. It seems to work fine in stereo for the little bit we use it. We've had it a couple of years. It hooks my wife's PC playing Aqualung into our home theater receiver. I have no idea whether it will pass full ac3, 5.1, 7.1 or anything like that. Not even really sure how I might test that for you but we could try if it was important to you. Maybe I can run xine and play a DVD or something, assuming my receiver supports 5.1 on that input. I don't know. BTW - I have never used the inputs on this device. The ONLY thing we do is send 2 channel stereo output from the PC to the receiver. Nothing more. Hope this helps, Mark |
